So here we are, striding uphill along Barrows Trail on February 9, 2012. No snowshoes needed, just our micro-spikes. The elevation, the views, it's all spectacular. I felt a burst of...what? claustrophobia?..in that little corridor of shrubs short of the summit. Yep, that blob of blue at the top is me!
Here's what I didn't know: that was no claustrophobia, that was a severe headache and my sinus system was red-lining. After two office visits, rounds of Prednisone, Clarithromycin, and other star warriors in the league against asthma and allergies, I'm waiting on a surgical consult to find out if my sinuses need to be roto-rootered.
A patient not waiting patiently. That would be me.
